BACKGROUND |
- Noel was a leading amateur jockey for 20 years, riding over 100 winners, and his successes included a win on Ushers Island at the Cheltenham Festival. He initially trained Point to Pointers for 4 years before taking out a full license in 2000.
|
LOCATION |
- Noel trains near Thirsk at the famous Breckenborough Stables, the yard previously used by the Ramsdens in their highly successful training operation of a few years ago.
|
FACILITIES |
- As you would expect for a yard built by the Ramsdens, the yard enjoys top class
facilities with a 7 furlong round and a 7 furlong hill gallop, both with all weather and grass surfaces, and a swimming pool.
|
HISTORY |
- Noel has trained 69 flat winners and 6 over jumps in the last 4 years and is well renowned for doing well with relatively low budget or tricky horses. David Nicholls often switches horses to him that might be in need of a change of scenery and he has successfully revitalised a number of horses from David, who recommends him highly.
- His reputation has gradually grown and he was recently sent two nice jumps prospects costing £100,000 and £34,000, Makari and Yes Daddy.
|
BEST HORSES |
- Noels most successful horses to date would include Pavershoes (RPR 101), who won a Heritage Handicap at Ayr, Hotham (RPR 101), a dual York winner and the winner of 11 races, Demolition (RPR 99), also a dual York winner, and Rising Shadow (RPR 106).
